QMHP first probed client as to the cause of the physical altercation between he and the negative peer today. QMHP then verbalized to client he should’ve walked away from the peer before arguing with him and then later being punched in the face by the peer. QMHP also gave client alternate conflict resolution techniques to use to help with the deescalating altercations such as the “stop think and count to 10 techniques. QMHP then identified healthy physical outlets for client’s strong feelings of anger and aggressive impulses which will keep him from being involved in altercations in the community. QMHP then used active listening skills to delay poor impulses with client to react with verbal/physical aggression instead of using calming techniques to avoid confrontations with others. Client and parents seemed receptive to today’s family counseling session evidenced by them verbalizing understanding of session.
